Task Groups

Government Liaison

Develop and maintain a relationship with local units of government including cities, county, special districts and school districts.  We provide a flow of information of what is occurring within these jurisdictions and provide input into the public policy making process.  Taxpayers depend on their elected officials to represent their best interests and to deliver "quality of life" to their communities.  This Task Group performs a "watch-dog" function and supports local elected officials who are performing their duties to the public.

Public Policy

Operates for the purpose of reviewing and analyzing public policy issues with the scope of interests of taxpayers within the Sacramento region.  While SacTax is primarily concerned with local tax issues, in appropriate cases, issues of state and even national importance may be subject to review.

Membership Development/Retention/Services (DRS)

This group has two primary functions - expanding the ever-growing membership base of SacTax and offering quality services, such as educational events, to inform and build value for the membership.

Publications

This task group prepares, produces, and disseminates quality publications for internal and external use by SacTax.  This is essential for an informed membership and informed public.  Publications include the SacTax Insights (an informational newsletter format); SacTax Perspective (a brief "white paper" on important public policy issues); SacTax Action Alerts; and a variety of other documents produced in traditional print mediums and electronic mediums.

Public Relations

Communicates to the external publics of SacTax in the effort to create awareness of important public issues and to inform them on the same.

Campaigns

Help administer and perform daily tasks on issue campaigns (ballot measures). While SacTax tries to influence policy before it becomes a ballot measure, sometimes it is necessary to establish a campaign team to help pass or defeat an initiative.
